SF Rush: The Rock is an excellent update that gives you a reason to go to the arcade even if you have the original at home. And you get four other tracks that are based off those in the N64 version. The Rock track is a figure-eight tour around the infamous prison island. Of course there are brand-new tracks as well. And there are additions to the existing and mirror versions. You get four new cars, including a taxi cab and pickup truck for starters. What does this new title add to the mix? Well, quite simply, more of what you loved. Now, timed with the release of Rush for the N64, Atari has released an arcade update called San Francisco Rush: The Rock, Alcatraz Edition. The graphics were extremely crisp and clear (thanks in no small part to 3Dfx technology) and the levels showed s the coolest areas of San Francisco. With a realistic driving model, force-feedback steering, awesome jumps and shortcuts, not to mention gameplay that mixes the play mechanics of Sega's Daytona USA or Super GT with Atari's own Hard Drivin' series, Rush was much more than a simple driving simulation.
